Activity Description

Psoriasis is a chronic proliferative and inflammatory condition of the skin. It is characterized by erythematous plaques covered with silvery scales, particularly over the extensor surfaces, scalp, and lumbosacral region. This activity reviews the pathophysiology, presentation, and diagnosis of psoriasis and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in its management.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:

  • Describe the subtypes of psoriasis.
  • Recall the presentation of a patient with psoriasis.
  • List the treatment and management options available for psoriasis.
  • Discuss interprofessional team strategies for improving care coordination and outcomes in patients with psoriasis.
