Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify clinical signs and symptoms indicative of acute pulmonary embolism to facilitate prompt diagnosis and intervention.
Select the most appropriate diagnostic imaging modalities, such as computed tomography pulmonary angiography or ventilation-perfusion (V/Q) scanning, based on patient presentation and risk factors.
Differentiate between acute pulmonary embolism and other cardiopulmonary conditions presenting with similar symptoms to ensure accurate diagnosis and management.
Implement coordination among the interprofessional team members to diagnose and manage acute pulmonary embolism and enhance the delivery of care for patients.
