At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify risk factors associated with cancer of the oral mucosa, including tobacco and alcohol use, human papillomavirus infection, and stem cell transplants.
Implement appropriate treatment strategies based on the stage of cancer of the oral mucosa, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
Select optimal treatment modalities considering patient-specific factors such as age, overall health, and treatment preferences for managing cancer of the oral mucosa in clinical practice.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists, to comprehensively manage cancer of the oral mucosa and maintain the overall quality of life for patients.
