Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
- Screen patients with suspected adrenal adenoma through appropriate diagnostic tests, including imaging modalities (eg, CT and MRI scans) and hormonal assays for the evaluation and management of adrenal adenomas.
- Differentiate between nonfunctional and hormonally active adrenal adenomas associated with conditions such as Cushing syndrome, primary hyperaldosteronism, or hyperandrogenism by assessing the size, hormonal activity, and potential complications of the tumors.
- Elucidate the importance of appropriate treatment decisions and follow-up strategies, including adrenalectomy, for hormonally active adrenal adenomas to alleviate symptoms and prevent associated morbidity in patients at risk.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive treatment strategies and follow-up care for patients with adrenal adenomas through effective communication.
