Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify suitable candidates for minimally invasive aortic valve surgery based on individual patient factors, such as age, comorbidities, and valve pathology.
Screen patients thoroughly, considering factors like chest wall deformities, radiation therapy history, and prior chest surgeries, to determine eligibility for minimally invasive procedures.
Differentiate between various minimally invasive approaches and open heart surgery, considering the pros and cons of each method.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as intensivists and nurses, to provide comprehensive perioperative care and postoperative monitoring for patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures.
