Identify appropriate patients for diskectomy based on clinical presentation, medical history, diagnostic imaging findings, and response to conservative management.
Assess the effectiveness of conservative treatments prior to considering diskectomy, including medication management, physical therapy, and spinal injections.
Apply evidence-based guidelines and best practices in the perioperative management of patients undergoing diskectomy to minimize complications and optimize surgical outcomes and patient safety.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care throughout the surgical process and until their functional recovery.
