Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify the indications for vertebral augmentation, such as osteoporotic compression fractures and other conditions warranting intervention.
Implement vertebral augmentation procedures with precision and adherence to established protocols, demonstrating proficiency in both vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty techniques to achieve fracture reduction, vertebral height restoration, and kyphotic correction.
Select appropriate materials, including cement types and delivery methods, for vertebral augmentation procedures, taking into account patient-specific factors and the goals of the intervention.
Coordinate postoperative care and follow-up, ensuring continuity in patient care and collaborating with rehabilitation professionals to support the patient's recovery and mitigate the risk of future fractures.
