Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify patients at risk for pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) by recognizing symptoms such as hypoxemia, dyspnea, and exercise intolerance.
Screen individuals with suspected PAVM efficiently using appropriate diagnostic methods, including contrast-enhanced CT, pulmonary angiography, and transthoracic saline bubble contrast echocardiography.
Implement timely and appropriate interventions for confirmed PAVM cases, considering factors such as feeding artery diameter and patient symptoms.
Coordinate care for patients with PAVM, including long-term follow-up plans, to optimize outcomes and prevent complications.
